I provide a welcoming space for you to not feel alone with your concerns as we help make new meaning from your experiences.  From your first appointment, we will take an in-depth look at your concerns in a holistic way.  We will create a plan together to address issues affecting your quality of life while building on strengths and connections. Part of this is identifying barriers that keep you stuck. We will explore helpful ways to establish boundaries and connection with others, increase communication, increase peace and joy in your life, and help you get in-tune with yourself and your needs in ways that serve you.  Sessions are for 18 years and older.

Contact me today, I'd be happy to talk with you and discuss what you are needing from therapy and if this would be a good fit for you.  My initial intake forms are completed through a secure portal on Simple Practice and we will meet for live video sessions through a secure telehealth platform.

If you are experiencing an emergency, please contact an emergency hotline like the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, call 911, or go to your local emergency room.

Insurance and Self-Pay

My goal is to offer psychotherapy that is affordable and accessible.  Please let me know if you need to submit any information to your insurance company for reimbursement.
I use an eclectic approach drawing from several modalities.  Please see below to learn more.

Polyvagal Theory

"Polyvagal Theory offers a neurophysiological framework to consider the reasons why people act in the ways they do. Through a polyvagal lens, we understand that actions are automatic and adaptive, generated by the autonomic nervous system well below the level of conscious awareness. This is not the brain making a cognitive choice, These are autonomic energies moving in patterns of protection.  And with this new awareness, the door opens to compassion."

Motivational Interviewing

“MI is a collaborative, goal-oriented style of communication with particular attention to the language of change. It is designed to strengthen personal motivation for and commitment to a specific goal by eliciting and exploring the person’s own reasons for change within an atmosphere of acceptance and compassion.”  (Miller & Rollnick, 2013, p. 29) https://motivationalinterviewing.org/understanding-motivational-interviewing

What is EMDR & Benefits of Doing EMDR

"EMDR utilizes a combination of bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements or tapping, and cognitive processing to help individuals process and heal from distressing memories and experiences. This therapy is based on the idea that traumatic experiences can become stuck or unprocessed in the brain, leading to symptoms like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. EMDR aims to help individuals reprocess these memories in a safe and controlled environment, ultimately reducing the emotional power they hold and alleviating the associated symptoms. EMDR is often recommended for individuals who have experienced trauma, but it can also be helpful for a range of other mental health concerns such as anxiety, phobias, and performance anxiety. With its growing body of research supporting its effectiveness, EMDR continues to be a valuable tool in the field of mental health therapy."
